To-Gather is going for the 10
The Coordinator To-Gather Wim Kratsborn, congratulated the New Year of the To-Gather partners with a new song. He said his slogan will be; ‘Let’s go for the 10’ and wrote a song about the ‘To-Gather Festival’ as a kind of wish for the New Year as an invitiation for people to come to the festivals.
In August 2009 To-Gather did get the mark ‘very good’ according to the concept, the content and the didactics from Brussels. So together we started to improve the quality of the whole package that is made in 2006-2009 and to develop, implement and multiply it further in 2009-2011.That’s why Wim Kratsborn made a Plan of Action related to the 7 Workpackages (November 2009).
Furthermore he worked out ‘Seven reasons to come to gather’ (see attachment) in order to synchronise the seven aims of the project and the seven steps of the learning route.
Since 9/11 three new developments did occur:
1.To-Gather and the Hanze University Groningen became officially member of EMUNI and that means that Northern Africa and the Middle East are also involved.
2.In cooperation with EMUNI, the Summerschool ‘Come to gather’ is planned in Groningen in August 2011 for students from the EMUNI and the To-Gather-network.
Also colleagues from Damascus (Kinda Tabbah), Brussels (Léonce Bekemans), Fenice (Claudio Pessari) and Beirut (Bassem Kaissi) will be participating in the Summerschool.
3.Another consequence is that his dream to make a film of ‘A story of Europe’ came closer in December 2009. Ettore Deodato from the European Commission is trying to find money for the making of the film.
Coordinator of To-Gather Drs. Kratsborn said that he would like to ask each coordinator to work on the implementation and multiplication of To-Gather in pre-primary, primary, secondary and higher education in the own country. Concretely the aim is that the learning routes are used in schools. It is wanted that each partner makes a concrete Plan of Action how to realize that in his own country.
“Will there be a seminar and/or training organised for schools? Will the learning routes be related to a subject or a project? How can To-Gather be integrated in the curriculum? How will the promotion of To-Gather in the own country be organised?”
And it is decided that the deadline for sending the own Plan of Action to the coordinator is February 26.
Furthermore the Advisory Board (Alistair Ross, Florebela Sousa, Beata Krzywosz-Rynkiewicz) will communicate with the coordinator and Tessa Schinkel about the Plan of Action and the dissemintaion on March 17 in Amsterdam.
The next step should be to talk about it. He said; he would like to invite all coordinators and subcontractors for a meeting in Groningen on March 26 in 2010. The arrival is on March 25 and the departure on March 27.
And he added that; “It is a good idea to meet with all the coordinators and subcontractors and not only with the Steering Group (the coordinators of the old partners). Suggestions about the agenda and the own contribution at the meeting in Groningen are welcome.”
