Young people are growing up in a turbulent world and have to find their own way.
That´s why we´ve developed the international minor ‘Your identity in Europe’ for high talented students at the Hanze University Groningen. The minor is one of the results of the European project To-Gather.
Seven reasons to follow the minor
1. You may develop a ‘multiple choice identity’ in ‘the multiple society’ by opening the
senses towards the self, the other and the own context. Think out of the box and relate your
own identity as a citizen in Europe, your future profession and the present society.
2. You may gather basic knowledge and develop a cultural identity (‘Bildung’). Relate the
present, the past and the future by using theory, images, it, drama and especially music.
3. You may learn in an innovative way through musuic, different learning styles and
disciplines such as sociology, philosphy, economy, history, aesthetics and psychology.
4. You may do research about the own future profession through ‘real life learning’ and
‘lifelong learning’. Maybe you want to be a teacher, an it-specialist, a technician, a social
worker, a banker, a psychologist, a businessman or something else?
5. You may communicate and cooperate on the website with students from the minor, the
Hanze University and in other parts of Europe, Northern Africa and the Middle East.
6. You may feel committed to values and norms inside the framework of human rights
7. You may relfect on your profession in the future by balancing five minds for the future
(Howard Gardner).
Are you a high-talented student?
You are welcome when you are a bachelor student (year 3/4), an international student at the Hanze University or a student in Europe (CiCe and ETEN-network), Northern Africa or the Middle East (EMUNI-network). Also Master and PhD-students may join the minor.

-strongly motivated to follow the minor and to become a ´multiple choice identity’
-open minded by ‘thinking out of the box’ and respectful for ‘the other’
