On June 24 the publisher Zwijsen, Tilburg, the Netherlands did get the ‘Comenius EduMedia Award 2011’ for the multimedial history method ‘The Trek’. A European jury did give this award because of the innovative use of multimedia and the high quality of the content and the didactics.
The method is developed by Wim Kratsborn as head-author and one of the products of the concept of To-Gather. Children experience history in an active, digital and creative way by interactive and realistic gaming, beautiful clips, role plays, aesthetics (music and images) and a digital encyclopedium as a source of knowledge. Furthermore they can place it in an historical and present context and use it as realistic way to look at the future.
